OTC Automotive students in the Alternative Fuels portion of their training were treated to a unique field trip at NASA Glen Reserach Center in Cleveland, Ohio this week. Students did hands-on testing at the NASA site understanding how algae can be used in the future as car, jet and rocket fuel. Researchers have even trained Piranha's to eat only seaweed. The byproduct of having the fish consume seaweed instead of meat, produces an organic material that encourages the growth of a specific type of seaweed that is for use as fuel.
